Clamav Mac Install

For users who want to protect headless Linux-based systems such as servers, ClamAV is a perfect choice. In general, Linux-based systems are less susceptible to viruses than either Mac or Windows systems, but installing a basic antivirus is always prudent, whether you’re administering a desktop or server. If your computer still has Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.9.5, you can use ClamXAV 2. Step 1 Find ClamXAV3.1.28690Installer.pkg in your Downloads Folder and double click it and follow the on-screen prompts to perform the installation. When asked for your admin name and password, these are the ones you use to log into your computer. After installation, ClamXav 2 launches and begins its first definition update. ClamXav 2 has the starkest interface of all the Mac antivirus programs we reviewed.
